Our concept is 100% designed from the perspective of a road trip. This means that the experience and discovery of a region or country is paramount, from the motorhome or car or from the motorbike. So the beauty of the route in itself is the basis for a successful holiday.

Your digital travel guide remains permanently available on the web page with the interactive map, which is also where we make updates to the travel guide and always provide the latest version.

We use several techniques when choosing and formatting the road trips we publish.

The first is own experience. That means we design the road trip, drive it, write it out and then publish it.

Sometimes we go the other way round, to offer a much sought-after road trip destination. Then we will coordinate extra with local tourism services and afterwards do a quality check by driving the route ourselves.

Another option is for the route to be offered by people or services with special experience. These are people who know a region or route inside out, or tourism agencies that have mapped out a route in their region. Based on their route, we will then work on choosing places of interest, walking and cycling routes and places to stay overnight.

The basis for the cost of a travel guide is the number of pages of the travel guide. The longer the road trip, the more stages, the more information, the more expensive the travel guide. Depending on the size, a travel guide costs €15.50, €17.50 or up to €19.50. These are market-conformable prices for which you get a lot of information and quality that will save you a lot of time preparing for your holiday and less search stress during your holiday.

Our travel guides are compiled by a team of experts with special knowledge from the world of travel journalism, publishing, marketing and graphic design. They work for weeks to give you a high-quality product that allows you to start your holiday right away and is a perfect travel companion on the road trip.

We draw the road trips for a holiday with a camper (motorhome), a car or a motorbike. They are therefore suitable for any of these vehicles. The route is mainly on regional or national roads and we never go off-road. Motorways are only used when there is no alternative or when it is appropriate to cover a distance between point A and point B quickly.

In principle, our road trips can also be driven with a car and a caravan, although using a caravan somewhat goes against the principle of a road trip where you cover longer distances. Do you have a small caravan and want to visit several overnight stops on a longer route? Then you will find more than enough inspiration on our website.

You can rent a camper (motorhome) from a local motorhome dealer. An alternative is to surf to a website of a professional motorhome rental company. There are quite a few large, international motorhome rental companies that offer their own motorhomes and/or private motorhomes for rent.

Want a fly-and-drive holiday where you rent a car at your faraway destination? Then there are also a lot of options. For the Netherlands and Belgium, Sunny Cars is probably the biggest specialised provider of rental cars on holiday.

When you buy a travel guide you will find a QR code and/or link to the interactive page on page 3 of the travel guide. On this interactive page, below the map you will find a black download button for the road trip's GPX file.

Unfortunately, we cannot give an unequivocal answer to this because it depends entirely on the type of GPS device you have. In a camper (motorhome), this is often a separate device that can be connected to the PC via a cable and then upload GPX routes via the device software.

In a car, you are usually dealing with a built-in device. To download GPX files, you need an online account (e.g. My.Audi.Com) where you can upload 'special travel destinations' and then send them to your GPS device in the car.

Motor vehicles can have either a built-in or a stand-alone GPS device. For them, the same applies as above.

Therefore, read the manual of your GPS device carefully!

Don't have a built-in or separate GPS to drive a route? Then navigating via an app on your smartphone is an alternative. There are quite a few apps you can install on your Apple or Android smartphone to download and ride GPX routes. Three commonly used apps are:

On the interactive page of the travel guide you will find a GPX file for each hiking trail or cycling route. With these, you can use your smartphone as a GPS to make a walking or cycling tour. 

To use GPX files on your smartphone, you must first download an application that can read GPX files. Well-known and widely used apps to read GPX files are Strava and Komoot.

The GPS nodes from our travel guides are a combination of GPX coordinates that together form a route between point A and point B. You can use them to form your own daily stages instead of uploading the entire road trip to your GPS. They are also useful if you only want to drive part of the road trip.

You place the GPS points on your GPS device as different stops. First enter your final destination, e.g. the destination where you want to finish the stage in the evening, and confirm. Then you add extra GPS points on the route as extra stops on the route. You can determine and change the order of the stops yourself, according to the order from the road trip. Your GPS will then navigate you from stop to stop, so you will follow exactly the route we have mapped out in the road trip.

GPX coordinates or geo-coordinates are coordinates that numerically record a location on Earth with a latitude (e.g. 38.174563) and a longitude (e.g. 13.138938). They result in a unique point on the globe. In our travel guides, we use GPX coordinates to display GPS points, sightseeing locations, overnight stops or other relevant locations so you can put them into your GPS. Your vehicle will then guide you to the exact point without needing the address. Addresses do dare to change or cause confusion, geo-locations are unique and not open to debate. That is why they are so valuable on a road trip.

In every travel guide stick several hiking trails and cycling routes on or near the route. We almost always choose hiking trails between 4 and 15 km and cycling routes between 25 and 75 km. We first look at the range offered by local tourist offices, because they are after all the experts in the region and often put a lot of energy into the quality of hiking trail and cycling routes. We also look at the extensive offer on various online platforms where private individuals or organisations publish routes. These often include gems, which we like to keep in the travel guide.

When choosing hiking and cycling routes, we go for 'the average', meaning we go for routes that are feasible for young and old. Of course, a good level of fitness is always required to walk or exercise, and you as an individual should decide for yourself whether a hiking trail or cycling route suits your individual fitness level. We always refer to a page with additional information about the route in question.

Cycling routes are created from the perspective of 'recreational cycling' with a regular bicycle, an e-bike or a road bike. However, fans of off-road cycling (MTB) will be able to make their own selection of fun routes on the platforms we refer to in the road trip.

Firstly, we selected all campings on the route where campers are also welcome. 

Secondly, we offer all official camper (motorhome) places on the route where you will find facilities for campers.

We do not offer car parks (without facilities for motorhomes), for that we like to refer to motorhome parking apps.

In addition, in spring 2024, we will offer an integration with a large online marketplace of hotels and B&Bs, allowing you to quickly and easily select a hotel or B&B on the route.
